EC drive configuration – important information
The motor controllers are configured by default to operate using a 0–10 V signal.
To adapt a new EC drive, ordered as a spare part, to work with a given air handling unit with VTS automation, the following are required:
- a USB-RS485 converter (e.g. Ultima TRB-0611 or another based on the FTDI chipset)
- a power supply cable for the motor (L+N+PE for 1-phase drives; L1+L2+L3+PE for 3-phase drives)
- Modbus master software (e.g. Modbus Poll)
Note! Factory-assembled VTS AHUs are supplied with drives ready for operation. The following steps apply only to drives ordered as spare parts and to drives in AHUs assembled on site.
After connecting the motor to the power supply and the converter, in the Modbus Poll software, establish a connection with the motor in accordance with the default parameters (address 1, baud rate 9600, no parity check, 1 stop bit), and then:
- Set Holding Register 5 to 9788 (password enabling parameter changes)
- Set HR 6 to 2 (operating mode = Modbus)
- Set HR 8 to 0 (response to communication loss = stop)
- Set HR 7 to the value corresponding to the motor’s address in the AHU – after this change, re-establish the connection with the motor at the selected address using the following parameters: baud rate 9600, no parity check, 1 stop bit
- Set HR 5 to 10000 (password to save the changes)
